Justice RM Lodha from Jodhpur is New Chief Justice of India (CJI)

Rajasthan's Jodhpur born Justice Rajendra Mal (RM) Lodha is New Chief Justice of India (CJI). He was administered the oath of office by President Pranab Mukharjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. At 64, Justice Lodha is the senior-most judge of the Supreme Court after Justice Sathasivam. He will have a brief tenure of five months as the Chief Justice as he is scheduled to retire on September 27. He has handled sensitive cases in the Supreme Court and is presently heading the bench monitoring the probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the coal scam.

Born on September 28, 1949 in Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Justice Lodha is the son of former Rajasthan High Court judge Justice S.K. Mal Lodha. He enrolled with the Bar Council of Rajasthan in February, 1973 and practiced law in the Rajasthan High Court, dealing with constitutional, civil, company, criminal, taxation and labour matters etc. He was elevated as a permanent judge of the Rajasthan High Court on January 31, 1994 and transferred to the Bombay High Court on February 16, 1994. He was a judge of the Bombay High Court for thirteen years, and sat on almost all jurisdictions. He was re-transferred to the Rajasthan High Court, where he assumed office on February 2, 2007. His other appointments included being Administrative Judge of the Rajasthan High Court and Chairman, State Judicial Academy, Rajasthan.

Shakir Ali wins Padma Shri award 2013

Rajasthan's S. Shakir Ali and Naib Subedar Bajrang Lal Takhar and has been named for the Padma Shri award2013 on the eve of 64th Republic Day. Indian Rover and Naib Subedar in Indian Army, Bajrang Lal Takhar who won the first individual rowing silver medal for India at the 2006 Asian Games held in Doha and Shakir Ali who is Mugal and Parisian Painting expert has also won National award in year 1993 and now conferred with Padma Shri Award 2013.

Padma Awards, the country’s highest civilian awards, are conferred in three categories, namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.  The awards are given in all disciplines/ fields of activities, viz. art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, etc.  ‘Padma Vibhushan’ is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service; ‘Padma Bhushan’ for distinguished service of high order and ‘Padma Shri’ for distinguished service in any field.  The awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day every year. MEMU Rail Coach Factory, Bhilwara

MEMU Rail Coach Factory, Bhilwara: Rajasthan's Bhilwara district will get MEMU train coach factory as announced in Rail Budget 2013-14. Railways joined hands with state-owned BHEL for setting up a modern Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) coach factory in Bhiwara, Rajasthan.  Rajasthan will give us 200 acres of land in Bhilwara for setting up the MEMU coach factory and BHEL will set up the factory which will manufacture 400 coaches in a year as per Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal.

MoU was signed between railways and BHEL here for setting up a Rs 1,000 cr state-of-the-art MEMU coach factory in Bhilwara, the national transporter will sign another MoU with Rajasthan for the joint venture project. MEMU trains are required for faster connectivity with suburban areas. Nine MEMU coaches comprise one MEMU train.

Roof-top Solar Power Generation Scheme, Jodhpur, Rajasthan

Rajasthan Government to introduce "Roof-top solar power generation" Scheme in Jodhpur as per Rajasthan Budget 2013-14 announcement from Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot. Rajasthan is not first state to implement "Roof top solar power generation" project as Kerala and Gujarat already announced this scheme and way ahead in implementation of Roof top solar power generation scheme in state. Rajasthan Govt. allotted Rs. 100 Crore to implement this scheme in Jodhpur city where abundance solar energy is available for more than 9 Months in a year. 

The rooftop power plants offer several other advantages including:
* Decrease in Transmission and Distribution (T&D) losses
* Low gestation time

* Improvement of tail-end grid voltages

* Availability of solar energy for whole year in western Rajasthan.

Sambhar Lake: Sambhar Salt Lake, India's largest inland salt lake,a bowl shape lake encircles historical Sambhar Lake Town located 96 km south west of the city of Jaipur (Northwest India) and 64 km north east of Ajmer along National Highway 8 in Rajasthan. At Sambhar, folklore and history coalesce and legends abound around its presence here. According to one version, some 2,500 years ago, the Goddess Shakumbhari bequeathed the lake to the people of the area. In her veneration, a sparkling whitewashed temple stands on a rocky hillock jutting out of the lake bed. A reference in the epic Mahabharata explicates the marriage of Raja Yayati with Devyani, daughter of Shukarcharya (the guru of demons) who lived beside the lake. A temple and a tank near Salt Lake city honour Devyani even today.

Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), Ajmer  finally issued the New pattern, Syllabus of RAS (Rajasthan Administrative Services) and Allied service Examination from 2013 as per Circular issued by Department of Personnel (DoP), Government of Rajasthan date 18th May 2012 and Finally notification issued on 17th June 2013. RPSC Ajmer uploaded the Official Notification and syllabus for New Pattern of RAS Examination 2013. RAS New pattern will have special emphasis on Rajasthan Culture and Literature. Rajasthan Govt. approve the changes in RAS Examination rules 1999 to attract more brains from market in services. This rules will be applicable from RAS Exam 2013. As per new pattern now RAS Pre Exam will have a single common paper of 200 Marks based on General Knowledge and General Science with 3 Hour duration. RAS Mains exam will have Four Paper each Paper with 200 Marks. RAS Mains will have four paper each with 200 Marks. Three paper will be based on General Knowledge including rajasthan history, Geography, economics, Current affairs, Rajasthan, Language and other GK Quiz. Fourth Paper will be based on Language i.e. Hindi, English, Rajasthani.
