Bharatpur in National Capital Region (NCR) now


Bharatpur in Rajasthan and Bhiwani and Mahendragarh districts of Haryana will now be a part of the National Capital Region (NCR). This proposal was approved at the meeting of NCR Planning Board on Monday. This move will lead to major infrastructural development in these areas. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath. "Based on the request of the participating states, the board has approved the inclusion of Bharatpur in Rajasthan, Bhiwani and Mahendragarh in Haryana in NCR. The proposal for including Karnal and Jind districts of Haryana in NCR are also being considered,'' Nath said. Funding from the NCR Planning Board will be available for projects in areas included in NCR. "Loans can be made available at cheaper rates to such areas. This will eventually lead to an increase in real estate prices,'' said a Ministry official. Until now, the NCR included nine  districts of Haryana, five districts of UP, Alwar in Rajasthan and the National Capital Territory (NCT).

Manchester of Rajasthan - Bhilwara

Bhilwara or Bhilwada city of Rajasthan is known as Manchester of Rajasthan for its major holding in textile business of Rajasthan and India. The major industry is textiles, with more than 400 manufacturing units in the town. The main textile product is synthetic fabric used in trousers. It began with a spinning and knitting company named mewar textile mills, owned by Industrialist Shri Sampatmal Lodha, started in year 1938. There after Shri Laxmi niwas Jhunjhunwala started his first unit for synthetic textile in the year 1961 at Bhilwara. Then many other units came up. The turnover of the textile industry is more than Rs. 10,000 crore p.a. The city has 9 major spinning mills and 5 small spinning mills. The total spindlage installed at Bhilwara are approx. 4.50 lacs about 40% of the State capacity.

Indira Gandhi Canal Rajasthan

Indira Gandhi Canal Rajasthan: Indira Gandhi Canal Project (इंदिरा गाँधी नहर परियोजना ) is one of the most gigantic projects in the world aiming to dedesertify and transform desert waste land into agriculturally productive area. The project objectives include drought proofing, providing drinking water, improvement of environment, afforestation, employment, rehabilitation, development and projection of animal wealth and increasing agricultural produce. The project construction commenced in the year 1958. Though the project is only partially complete it has shown remarkable success. Indira Gandhi Nahar Project was designed to utilise 9,367 Mm3/yr of the total 10,608 Mm3/yr allocated to Rajasthan from the surplus waters of the Ravi and Beas rivers. The construction of the project has been divided into two stages.

Indira Gandhi Canal consists of the Rajasthan feeder canal (with the first 167 km in Punjab and Haryana and the remaining 37 km in Rajasthan) and 445 km of the Rajasthan main canal which is entirely within Rajasthan.This canal enters into Haryana from Punjab near Lohgarh village of Haryana,then running in western part of district Sirsa it enters into Rajasthan near Kharakhera village of Rajasthan. The IGNP traverses seven districts of Rajasthan: Barmer, Bikaner, Churu, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Sriganganagar.

Kalisindh TPS



Kalisindh TPS: Kalisindh Thermal Power Station (TPS) is a proposed 1200 megawatt (MW) plant which is currently under construction in Jhalawar district, Rajasthan .
Kalisindh TPS has two Unis:
1. KALISINDH TPS UNIT-1 =600 MW expected date of completion: March 2013
2. KALISINDH TPS UNIT-2  = 600 MW expected date of completion: June 2013.
Kalisindh Thermal Power Station (TPS) is being built near the villages of Nimoda, Undal, Motipura, Singharia and Devri villages in Jhalawar district, Rajasthan, India. (RVUN states that the plant site is "about" 12 kilometres from Jhalawar and 2 kilometres from state highway No.19 and 8 km from proposed Ramganj Mandi - Bhopal broad gauge rail line

State PSU in Rajasthan


PSU in Rajasthan: PSU stands for Public Sector Undertaking (PSU). PSU in India or Rajasthan is a Government owned company and their subsidiarity companies such as Air India Limited, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Coal India Limited, Food Corporation of India, BSNL, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) etc. PSU of India is used to refer to companies in which the government (either the federal Union Central Government or the many state or territorial governments, or both) own a majority (51 percent or more) of the company equity.

MEMU Rail Coach Factory, Bhilwara

MEMU Rail Coach Factory, Bhilwara: Rajasthan's Bhilwara district will get MEMU train coach factory as announced in Rail Budget 2013-14. Railways joined hands with state-owned BHEL for setting up a modern Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) coach factory in Bhiwara, Rajasthan.  Rajasthan will give us 200 acres of land in Bhilwara for setting up the MEMU coach factory and BHEL will set up the factory which will manufacture 400 coaches in a year as per Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal.
MoU was signed between railways and BHEL here for setting up a Rs 1,000 cr state-of-the-art MEMU coach factory in Bhilwara, the national transporter will sign another MoU with Rajasthan for the joint venture project. MEMU trains are required for faster connectivity with suburban areas. Nine MEMU coaches comprise one MEMU train.

Roof-top Solar Power Generation Scheme, Jodhpur, Rajasthan

Rajasthan Government to introduce "Roof-top solar power generation" Scheme in Jodhpur as per Rajasthan Budget 2013-14 announcement from Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot. Rajasthan is not first state to implement "Roof top solar power generation" project as Kerala and Gujarat already announced this scheme and way ahead in implementation of Roof top solar power generation scheme in state. Rajasthan Govt. allotted Rs. 100 Crore to implement this scheme in Jodhpur city where abundance solar energy is available for more than 9 Months in a year. 
The rooftop power plants offer several other advantages including:
* Decrease in Transmission and Distribution (T&D) losses
* Low gestation time
* Improvement of tail-end grid voltages
* Availability of solar energy for whole year in western Rajasthan.

Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) in Rajasthan

Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC): Under the Eleventh Five Year Plan of India(2007–2012), Ministry of Railways is constructing a new Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) covering about 2762 route km long two routes - the Eastern Corridor from Ludhiana to Dankuni and the Western Corridor from Jawahar Lal Nehru Port, at Nhava Sheva in Navi Mumbai to Tughlakabad, Delhi/Dadri along with interlinking of two corridors at Khurja. Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) is a corporation run by the Government of India to undertake planning & development, mobilisation of financial resources and construction, maintenance and operation of the Dedicated Freight Corridors.

Western Corridor of Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) is 1,483 km long rail corridor connecting the Jawaharlal Nehru Port near Mumbai with Dadri near Delhi. The DFC is in planning stages and is to be constructed by 2016. 39% of the corridor will pass through Rajasthan, creating new opportunities for companies located in Rajasthan to access the large Western and Northern domestic markets, as well as international markets via ports on the western seaboard. The DFC will provide high speed, double stacked container rail connectivity that will reduce transit time, costs and increase reliability.



Largest Cement producing state in India


Largest cement producing state in india: Rajasthan is second largest cement producer state in India after Andhra Pradesh. As of March, 2012, Rajasthan had 19 projects with aggregate Cement capacity of 38.8 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The cement industry in Rajasthan is witnessing significant growth in recent years. The key strength of Rajasthan cement industry is the presence of large limestone reserves, estimated to be over 2.5 billion tones. MS grade limestone of Jaisalmer district is supplied to various steel plants of the country. Currently, 15 major cement plants and 2 medium cement plants are in operation with a total installed capacity of about 20.3 million tonnes per annum. Given the availability of huge cement grade limestone reserves, more than 10 cement plants will be installed in the State in near future, particularly in Chittorgarh, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Nagaur and Pali.
